SOAPBOX RACE!!!
I just got back from the RedBull Soapbox Race 2008 and I'm pretty sure I had the best day of my life.
I MET JENSEN ACKLES!
So here's what happened!  Along with a few pictures of me and my friend with Jensen, our signed shirts and the rest of the pictures in a zip file.


Jared won the race by a long shot and Jensen crashed into the hay after crossing the finish line. Good effort.
They were both wearing Vancouver Canucks jerseys (of the NHL) with Ackles and Padalecki on the backs. Jensen was #13 and Jared was #14.

They hung out for a bit by the media and waited for a cart to take them back up to the top of the hill. Jared seemed to be really hyper (probably because of all the free RedBull). He was jumping around a lot. While they were waiting, another race was going on. One of the cars in that race crashed (I think it lost a wheel) so Jared got really excited and got up for a better view. Jensen was just watching Jared and laughing. At one point, Jared was demonstrating how cramped he was in the tiny soapbox racer.

A cart came and took them to the top. By the time me and my friend made it up, they weren't there but we were lucky enough to run into them on the way back down.

They went into a restaurant called Hell's Kitchen where a private after party was going on. You had to have tags to get in. The restaurant had a patio so we waited outside for a little bit trying not to look super creepy. At one point Jared came out and it looked like he was looking for someone. I turns out he was waiting for Jensen.

Jensen went in but came back out into the patio where my friend and I went up to him and asked him to sign our shirts (the shirts have a picture of Sam and Dean on the front and they say 'Samwin Deanchester' on the back because we couldn't decide between them). We also got picture taken with him and he took one with my mom too after I mentioned that she's been a fan of his since Days of Our Lives.
I didn't really pay attention to who he was with (because when you're face to face with Jensen Ackles everything else just looses meaning) but for some reason they looked familiar and they all got a kick out of the shirts so I'm guessing they might have something to do with the show. Crew and such maybe?

And finally, we said bye and as we were turning to walk away he was like, "Awweesome."

I do have videos of them from basically the time they got out of the race cars to when they got on the cart to leave. I haven't watched it yet so I'm not sure if you can make out what they're saying but Jared was being pretty darn loud so you might. I have to get around to uploading those once I figure out how to resize them to fit onto youtube.
